Rangers dominate rain-affected first day of BCA Classic

WestAs rain affected the first day of the second series of the BCA Elite League Three-Day Championship, Andlers scored 300/3 in just 47 overs to take the lead in the match against SigniaGlobe Financial BCA Youth.

On the Dayrells Road pitch, opener Seth Agard batted well, facing 140 balls and hitting seven fours to end the day with a score of 90. His opening partner Davion Hoyte scored 52, while Jonathan Drakes was just three runs away from a hundred, Drakes hitting six fours and six sixes in 48 balls to score 97. Raymon Reifer also contributed 40 runs in 24 balls.

Opening batsman Seth Agard played well throughout the innings and ended the day with a score of 90 runs.

At Queen’s Park:

Fusionz Boutique Spartan captain Akeem Springer led the home team to a 54-run knock off 52 balls, which included six fours and four sixes, to end the match in a close contest with Wildey.

Shamarh Brooks and Mikhail Austin contributed 38 and 36 respectively. Spartans finished the match at 157/6 in just 33 overs.

In the banking lobby:

Rain affected much of the day in the top-of-the-table clash between Empire and ESAF Pickwick.

Empire’s bowlers often took wickets in the early stages, overwhelming Pickwick’s batsmen. Pickwick lost wickets at 2, 5, 11, 16 and 28 before Preston Clarke and Ajani Waterman partnered to score 48 runs.

Clarke lost his wicket at 76/6 before the lunch break, after which the match was not played due to rain.
