In 2013, the Rana Plaza collapse in Savar killed many people. Garment workers were the most killed. Reshma was one of them. His body was recovered from the rubble 17 days after the incident. Director Nazrul Islam Khan started making a film called Rana Plaza in 2013 based on this incident.

After the news of the film’s production was announced, the interest of the audience started to heat up. But there was a problem with the censor board. In 2014, the film was first banned by the censors. Producer Nazrul wrote a writ to the High Court. Later, on July 11, 2015, the film was banned, but a day before it was to be released on August 24.

But now, after the new interim government came to the country, director Nazrul Islam is hopeful again. Recently, he told the media that he will repair all the documents related to the film next week and submit the film to the censorship agency.

In the director’s words, “The country is now under a provisional government, so we are full of hope. The film is being prepared for release, but the notice must be cancelled before that. We hope to discuss it with the relevant parties.”

Parimani played the role of Reshma in the film Rana Plaza while Simon Sadik played the role of Titu.
