Potato seeds produced in Argentina are expensive and are imported by the Ministry of Agriculture for cultivation in Paraguay.

According to producers, the Ministry of Agriculture had promised to provide four bags of potato seeds to each producer, but they only provided one and a half bags, which was not enough to ensure successful planting.

“We need four bags of seeds per producer. What they give us, we have almost nothing,” commented the farmers, who asked the Ministry of Agriculture to provide more seeds to save this year’s planting.
