Police Scotland seize £520,000 worth of drugs in raid on abandoned property in Dumfries

Police have seized drugs worth £520,000 during a raid on an abandoned property in Dumfries.

Police seized a “significant amount” of cannabis when they searched a shop on Ireland Street on Monday morning.

Dumfries Detective Sergeant Graeme Robertson said: “This is a significant seizure and demonstrates Police Scotland’s determination to tackle the cultivation and sale of illegal substances.

“Officers remain at the scene and our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances. Information from the public will be vital in helping us continue this work and I would appeal to anyone who has information about this grow to contact police.

“I am specifically asking anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious behaviour in and around Ireland Street (near Buccleuch Street) in recent months to contact us. Likewise, if you have any relevant CCTV or dashcam footage please share it with us.
