ÖFB women’s football team fails to secure European Championship ticket despite national team’s 3-1 win

ALTAC – The Austrian women’s national football team returned to winning ways in the European Championship qualifiers with a 3-1 win over Poland. Coach Irene Fuhrmann’s team held on in the heavy rain in Altach on Friday thanks to goals from Selina Degen (37th), Erin Campbell (71st) and an own goal from Silvia Matysik (74th). ÖFB’s European Championship fixture was out of reach before the final match, thanks to Iceland’s 3-0 win over Germany.
