The Namibia Tourism Board (NTB) and the Ministry of Tourism participated in a panel discussion at the 67th UN Tourism Regional Committee Meeting for Africa and the 2nd UN Tourism Africa Brand Regional Conference held in Livingstone, Zambia this week on the theme “Facilitating Africa to Unleash Tourism Investment and the Sector’s Growth Potential”.
Bonnie Mbidzo, Acting CEO of Namibia Tourism, shared Namibia’s perspective on the importance of promoting Africa as a tourism destination and discussed ways to increase investment in the tourism sector.
He said: “This conference provides us with an excellent opportunity to engage with other stakeholders and industry experts to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing the African tourism industry. I look forward to sharing Namibia’s success story and learning from other countries to identify new strategies for growth and development.”
The conference aims to provide African countries with a platform to showcase their unique tourism products and experiences, while discussing how to address challenges facing the industry such as infrastructure development, marketing, promotion and sustainability.
