MWSC announced today that it has begun installing and using modern equipment to prevent odors in areas where the company’s wastewater system pumping stations are located.
The first stage control system was installed at pump station 4 in the IGMH area. The change in ventilation of the sewage system pump stations will involve the removal of the existing pipes and the installation of a modern new system.
The water company’s foam air purification system reduces unpleasant odors in the air at pumping stations by 99%.
“These facilities will subsequently be installed at two pumping stations in the city. Thereafter, installation of these facilities at nine pumping stations in the city will be carried out within a year,” the company said.
