The Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO) will host a conference on women in tourism.
Mato said the tourism conference will be held in partnership with Hotel Jain, one of Sri Lanka’s leading hotels.
Matato said the Maldives Tourism Conference – Women’s Edition will be held on August 19 at Hotel Jen.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss issues affecting women in the tourism industry.
The conference will focus on promoting equity and finding solutions to industry challenges.
The conference will feature two panels composed entirely of female speakers, discussing the themes: Women in Management – Tackling Sexism and Women in Tourism – Fighting Social Stigma.
Mato said the conference aims to raise awareness of the barriers women face in the tourism industry and identify strategies to create a supportive and equitable environment.
The conference will foster open dialogue and provide women with an opportunity to share their perspectives, with the aim of creating green opportunities for women in the tourism industry.
Mato was born out of the association’s commitment to promoting tourism in Sri Lanka and abroad. In addition, the association has introduced various awards to recognize those working in the tourism sector.
