An Israeli drone strike killed five people today in Tulkarm in the occupied West Bank. The local commander of the Ezzedine Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas, was among the victims, Qatar-based Al Jazeera reported.

The director of Tulkelem Tarbet Hospital said an Israeli drone attack on a Palestinian vehicle near the Zeita village of Tulkelem resulted in the delivery of five bodies to the hospital, French news agency AFP reported.

Meanwhile, the Israeli army announced that it had shot down a vehicle carrying a terrorist group operating in the Tulkarm area. She did not provide further details of the attack.

Ezzedine Qassam, commander of the Tulkarm Brigade, was one of the five people killed in the attack. Haitam BaridiHamas confirmed this, according to Al Jazeera.

The situation in the West Bank, where the Israeli army regularly launches attacks, has also deteriorated further after the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7. According to Ramallah authorities, at least 594 Palestinians have been killed in attacks and violence by Israeli settlers since October 7. According to Israeli authorities, 17 Israelis have also been killed in the same period.
