The Ukrainian military said it attacked Russia’s Morozovsk airport and several oil and fuel depots in three Russian regions late Saturday. Reuters reported the incident.
The military announced that the attack on the airport hit an arsenal where Russian troops stored guided air bombs among other equipment.
Ukrainian President Zelensky later claimed that Russia had used more than 600 such guided bombs to attack Ukraine in the past week. He wrote on social networks: “Russian combat air forces must be destroyed by all effective means wherever they are. Attacking Russian airports is also reasonable.”
Ukraine also attacked oil and fuel depots in the Belgorod, Kursk and Rostov regions, with the statement saying the attack caused two oil tanks to catch fire.
Moscow also struck Ukrainian territory on Saturday night, with local officials saying a Russian drone damaged critical infrastructure in Ukraine’s Vinnitsa region.
The Ukrainian Air Force also announced that it had shot down 24 of 29 Shahid drones launched by Russia during nighttime raids on nine regions. The air force added that Russian forces also fired two S-300 air defense missiles and two Kh-31 missiles.
