The Israeli airstrikes targeted an area housing displaced persons’ tents in the al-Mawasi district west of Rafah, killing at least 21 Palestinians after Israel declared the area a “safe zone” during its raids in the Gaza Strip.
The majority of the 21 dead were women and children, and dozens were injured.
On Sunday, Israel bombed a tent camp, killing at least 45 displaced Palestinians.
