The judging panel will be made up of four experienced and renowned marketers from leading South African companies (who have judged the Assegai Awards) as well as international and local agencies in the marketing/agency space, including:

Cesar Vacchiano yes Skopon International Department, responsible for the international expansion of the Group. He carries out projects in many countries and Scopen currently has offices in Spain, Portugal, United Kingdom, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, China, India, Singapore and South Africa.

Scopen provides knowledge and identifies needs and future trends for marketers, agencies and media owners. The company’s researchers focus on the changing communications, marketing and advertising environment. He is the only non-marketer member of the Board of Directors of the Spanish Association of Advertisers (AEA), Secretary of the Spanish Effectiveness Awards and member of the jury for other industry awards and festivals.

Joanna McDowell yes Independent Agent Search and Selection Firm (IAS) and founded IAS in 2006. Johanna has been working in advertising, marketing and communications since the early 70s and has equivalent business and marketing degrees in the UK. As both a client and agency person, Johanna is well placed to advise clients and marketing service providers on the commercial and relationship aspects of long term contracts.

Nikki Mansi is Business Director at IAS. Nikki has over 25 years’ experience in the marketing and advertising industry and has spent the last 13 years as a consultant, involved in developing business and brand strategies with a focus on cross-functional action learning for clients.

Tebaso Maset She is the Independent Project Director at IAS. Tebatso recently completed her Postgraduate Diploma in Business Management at Unisa. Her key responsibilities at IAS include process streamlining, ongoing data management and the management of IAS’ client and agency relationship programs.
