Minister of Economic Development and Trade Mohamed Said said the government is working hard to solve all the problems in the country. The minister was speaking at the graduation and oath-taking ceremony of the 29th Basic Training Program of the Maldives Correctional Services.

Thirty-six officers completed the 29th basic training course. Economic Development and Trade Minister Mohamed Sayeed said the government is working hard to solve the problems caused by Sri Lanka in order to build the country today, President Dr. Mohamed Sayeed said the courageous efforts of Mohamed Sayeed were commendable.

Minister Sayeed said all institutions should work together to build the nation. He said if we work in this direction, Sri Lanka will become a developed country in the region.

“Today the country has reached this point, and the training of your children is just a little bit. I will tell you to prove your own footing while learning various knowledge such as morality, discipline, life skills, general knowledge and relevant technology…

The basic training of the Maldives Correctional Services Department is a 3-month course. The course consists of 8 modules. Some of the topics covered in the course include health and safety management, leadership skills, use of force and situations, first aid in emergency situations, and fire response. In addition, information is provided on searching prisoners, prison security, and familiarizing yourself with laws and regulations.

Prison Private Ahmed Aman was named the best officer in all aspects of the course.
