General Assembly Advisory Information: Roberto Chiesa confirmed as President

This morning, the election meeting for the Information Commission took place in the town of Maggiore.

This is the first appointment to the board since the introduction of Law 40/2023.

Members will be selected from professional journalists in print and radio and television over a three-year period from 2024 to 2027: Roberto Chiesa, Franco Cavalli, Sarah Bucci, Antonio Fabbri Egypt Giacomo Balducciwhile among the other categories mentioned in Annex A of Law 211/2014, as well as freelance journalists, the results were selected. Marco Cardinari, David Jadi, Jeffrey Zani Egypt Sara Serafini.

After the votes were counted, the Council elected the President by acclamation, confirming the role of Roberto Chiesa, and the new Board of Directors immediately met to delegate the other delegations, appointing Antonio Fabbri as Secretary and Giacomo Barducci as Treasurer.

In thanking his board members and colleagues for their trust, President Chiesa first thanked Roberto Bocarat Egypt Michelle Giardi Deliver on the commitments made by the outgoing board.

He also said that the main objectives of the new mission would not change: to provide support to journalists who have suffered intimidation and attacks, to organize training courses, and to discuss with institutions the improvement of rules for the protection of this category.
