EU moves meeting from Budapest to Brussels over Ukraine stance
EU foreign and defense ministers have decided to hold a key meeting in Brussels rather than Budapest in protest against Hungary’s rogue diplomacy over Ukraine.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban Recently visited Moscow and Beijing, which he called a “peace mission.” Hungary is currently EU Presidency Orban is seen as the person with the closest ties to Russia in the European Union.
“We have to send a signal, even if it’s only a symbolic one,” EU Foreign Minister Josep Borrell said late on Monday.
Borrell says all EU member states have “strongly” criticized Orban.Only Slovakia supported Hungary’s position.
Hungary was quick to condemn the change of venue.
“What a brilliant response they have given,” said Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó.
“I don’t want to hurt anybody’s feelings, but it feels like kindergarten.”

Dmytro Kuleba arrives in China
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba arrived in China on Tuesday for talks on how to end the war with Russia.
China Strengthening “unrestricted” ties with Russia Since invading Ukraine in 2022, it has presented itself as a neutral party to the conflict.
But Western governments blame China Providing support to Russia During the war.
“The main topics of discussion were finding ways to curb Russian aggression and the possible role of China in achieving a stable and just peace,” Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The visit is Kuleba’s first to China since the 2022 invasion. Beijing said the visit will last until Friday.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed the news.
“For us, relations with China are the most important. We intend to continue to develop Russian-Chinese relations in all areas,” he said.
