The funeral began with the Slovenian military song, before the country’s president addressed the gathering. “Few people have touched so many hearts and left them there as Anita Ogulin did. Not only that – They live there.” Nataša Pirc Musar said, according to a release on the website of the President’s Office.

According to her, Ogulin was a humanitarian with a heart of gold; “Her immense kindness and selflessness touched all who were fortunate enough to know her”. “Everyone who came into contact with Anita experienced her compassion and unwavering optimism, but most of all her belief in love. She said she was happiest when others were happy. She always had open arms to embrace and her smile was one of love. It was a source of strength for those in their most difficult moments.” This was stressed, among other things, by the country’s President.

According to Pirc Musar, Ogulin ensured that everyone would continue her mission, “Touched by her loving hands,” Among them, she specifically mentioned her fellow travelers from the Anita Ogulin Association and the Association of Friends of Youth (ZPM).

The ZPM president also summed up her memories of Anita Ogulin in an obituary posted today on the ZPM website: Darja Groznik. “Most of the memories and beautiful thoughts will not be made public, but written in the hearts of the people she helped. For many, she was the last hope. Slovenia was not only a prosperous land, but society was dangerously stratified into the rich and the poor. Many people were pushed to the brink of survival and even deprived of their human dignity. We turned a blind eye to the reality,” she repeated persistently, “ She wrote.

According to her, Anita Ogulin’s greatest and most valuable legacy is the realization that we can make society more compassionate, kind and encouraging to everyone.

Anita Ogulin The Government Communications Office explained on Thursday that she was awarded the Gold Order of Merit, according to which she is entitled to a funeral with military honors, and her relatives agreed. At the opening of the morgue, the Slovenian Army Guard laid a wreath in the name of the Republic of Slovenia. Half an hour before the funeral began, the honor guard stood in front of the morgue entrance and fired three shots during the ceremony.

Humanitarian and long-time president of the Association of Friends of Youth in Ljubljana Most-Polje (ZPM), Anita Ogulin, 73, said goodbye on Tuesday due to a serious illness. She dedicated her life to humanitarian work, for which she received numerous awards. With her work, efforts and dedication, she actively addressed the plight of children, young people and families in Slovenia for more than 40 years, they wrote in ZPM Ljubljana Most-Polje’s farewell.

This week, social networks were flooded with condolences to her relatives and tributes to her memory from various organizations and celebrities from all walks of life. Anita Ogulin’s life and work were also praised by the political world.

Also present at today’s funeral were Prime Minister Robert Golob, Ljubljana Mayor Zoran Jankovic, former President Danilo Türk and lawyer and deputy chairman of the board of directors of ZPM Ljubljana Moste-Polje Nina Zidar.
