ECB warns against counterfeiting of EU currency

The public is advised to be vigilant against counterfeit EC currency, especially during festive periods in the region. When making cash transactions, one should be vigilant to ensure the authenticity of banknotes.

Counterfeit banknotes have no value and distributing them is a criminal offence. If you find any suspicious banknotes, take them to the ECCB headquarters, any ECCB agency or the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in your area for assessment.
