Air connectivity in Dominica will improve as LIAT 2020 makes its first flight into Douglas Charles Airport today.
LIAT 2020, one of the Caribbean’s most popular airlines, made its first flight earlier this year following its revamp, marking a major milestone for the regional aviation industry.
LIAT 2020 is a collaborative project between Nigeria Air Peace Limited and the Government of Antigua and Barbuda.
This development comes after the closure of LIAT 1974 Ltd.
The new airline is the brainchild of Gaston Browne, Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda.
The first flight from Douglas Charles Airport is scheduled for 12:30 p.m.
There will be a welcoming ceremony at Douglas Charles Airport with officials from the Dominican Exploration Authority and LIAT 2020 in attendance.
