– On February 28, 2018, Dominican-born attorney Garvin Gauss Ambrose was sworn in as a member of the U.S. Supreme Court Bar in Washington, D.C. Ambrose, who was born in the Dominican village of Mahau, became an attorney in 2005 and currently serves as an Assistant State Attorney and Director of the Bureau of Administrative Services for the Cook County U.S. Attorney’s Office in Chicago, Illinois.
In the United States, attorneys who are accepted as members of the Supreme Court Bar can argue cases before the country’s highest court.
