Genetic skin diseases will be a major focus of the 8th Oman International Dermatology Conference and Exhibition, which will be held at the Millennium Resort Salalah from August 23 to 24.
The event is organized by the Oman Dermatology Association in collaboration with the General Directorate of Health Services in Dhofar Governorate. The conference will be chaired by Dr. Siham bint Salim al Sinaniyah, CEO of University Medical City. Experts from Oman, GCC countries, the United States and Middle Eastern dermatology organizations will participate.
The conference will cover a variety of topics including inherited skin diseases, recent articles from the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, psychodermatology, cutaneous manifestations of medical illness and acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, the role of the gut microbiota in skin disease, and controversies in cosmetic dermatology.
The goal is to gain insight into skin diseases and treatments and to facilitate early and accurate diagnosis.
Conference Chair Dr. Faiza al Raai mentioned that the scientific program includes nine comprehensive sessions covering a variety of specialties and emerging topics. The conference is designed to attract a wide range of medical and healthcare professionals from around the world, including dermatologists, family physicians, plastic surgeons, allergists, immunologists, pediatricians, pharmacists, residents and medical students.
Expert speakers at the conference include Dr. Aisha al Ali, Dr. Asma bint Nasser al Numaniyah, Dr. Abeer bint Ateeq al Balushiyah, Dr. Amira Elsayed Bayumi, Dr. Fatma bint Mohamed al Balushiyah, Dr. Waleed al Maharbi, Dr. Safiya bint Ahmed al Shaithaniyah and Dr. Zeyana bint Abdallah al Bahriyah, who will speak on various aspects of dermatology, providing valuable knowledge and expertise to all attendees.
The Oman Dermatological Society was established in 2006 and is dedicated to improving education and training in dermatology and cosmetic dermatology. They organise several international and national conferences, as well as general and specialist workshops. By combining the main dermatology and cosmetic medicine conferences, this event promises to be an engaging and informative event for participants from Oman and beyond.
