Member states of the Colombo Security Conclave (CSC), including Sri Lanka, yesterday signed the CSC Charter and the CSC Secretariat.

The agreement was signed on behalf of the member states at a ceremony held in Colombo yesterday by Prime Minister’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval KC, Sri Lanka’s National Security Advisor Ibrahim Ratf, Mauritius High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Haymandoyal Dilum and Sri Lanka’s Presidential National Security Advisor Sagara Ratnayake.

Under the CSC framework, member states will cooperate in five main areas.

It ensures maritime security, counters terrorism and extremism, prevents cross-border trafficking and planned crime, works to ensure cybersecurity and infrastructure security, and assists in humanitarian and disaster relief.

At the signing meeting held yesterday, the delegation discussed the next steps and what can be done in the future.
