Caribbean passports rise in ranking of world’s most powerful passports

CMC Bridgetown, Barbados – Several passports in the Caribbean Henley Passport Index 2024.

According to this index, Barbados retains top spot It has become the region’s most powerful passport, ranking 20th globally (up from 22nd in January) with a visa-free score of 165.

Following Barbados is the Bahamas, which rose from 24th to 21st in the global ranking, with visa-free access to 161 destinations.

In third place is St. Kitts and Nevis, which rose from 25th to 23rd on the list. Passport holders of the twin-island federation can travel visa-free to 157 destinations.

St. Vincent and the Grenadines ranked second, rising from 25th to 23rd globally, with visa-free access to 157 destinations. Antigua and Barbuda also ranked among them, rising from 27th to 26th globally, with visa-free access to 153 destinations.

Next on the list is the passport of Trinidad and Tobago, which rose from 29th to 27th globally, with visa-free access to 151 destinations, and next on the list is Saint Lucia, which rose from 32nd to 30th globally, with visa-free access to 148 destinations.

Grenada rose from 32nd to 31st in the global ranking, with visa-free access to 147 destinations.

Dominica’s passport ranks 32nd in the world, with visa-free access to 143 destinations. Belize’s global ranking rose from 52nd to 48th, with visa-free access to 102 destinations.

Close behind is the Guyana passport, which ranks 55th globally and offers visa-free travel to 89 destinations.

Following Guyana is the Jamaican passport, ranked 55th in the world, with visa-free access to 89 destinations.

The world’s most powerful passport belongs to Singapore, which allows visa-free access to 195 destinations. The world’s least powerful passport belongs to Afghanistan.
