Kathmandu, June 15. Private airline Buddha Air has inducted its 18th ATR aircraft.
The new aircraft that landed in Kathmandu on Friday is of the ATR 72-500 series, which has a capacity of 72 seats.
With this, the number of ATR-72 series aircraft has reached 15. Buddha Air said that after completing the necessary documents, the new aircraft will be put into regular flights from July next year.
Buddha acquired a new aircraft registration number 9N-ANZ. The aircraft was brought from Toulouse, France. Currently Buddha owns 3 ATR42-320 and 15 ATR72-500 series aircraft with a capacity of 47 seats.
Buddha’s marketing director Rupesh Joshi said the addition of this aircraft is in line with its commitment to make air travel easy and simple. “If the number of flights increases significantly and the fares become more affordable, we will add aircraft so that passengers can reach their flight destinations on time. We will continue to operate the flight schedule more efficiently,” Joshi said.’
According to him, it is planned to add one more flight to Dhangadi and Surkhet from July 1.
Currently, there are two flights a day to Dhangadi and Surkhet. Buddha plans to increase the number of flights to other destinations by adding more aircraft.
The additional aircraft will also help with regular maintenance, the company said. Budha currently operates more than 150 domestic flights daily.
The flight has international flights from Kathmandu to Benares, India. Similarly, inter-provincial flights are also operated from Pokhara to Chitwan, Belahawa and Nepalgunj.
