Kathmandu. The 16th TU BBA Cup football tournament will begin on August 20. The first match will be between the previous winners and hosts Shankardev Campus and KCMIT College.
Organisers of Sankardev Campus Independent Students’ Union (SWAVIU) held a press conference on Tuesday to inform about the tournament, which is being managed by Chand & Brothers Pvt. Ltd. and will be held at the Sano Gaucharan Sports Ground in Kathmandu.
Only students graduating from the Business Administration program at Tribhuvan University were allowed to participate in the competition. The 26 participating teams were divided into two poles.
According to the organizers, the winner of the tournament will receive a prize of Rs 1 lakh. Likewise, the best player of each tournament will receive a trophy. Likewise, the organizers have also arranged special prizes for the best player and the best player in the category.
In the 15th edition of the competition held at Mahendra Multipurpose Campus in Dharan, Shankardeva won the championship by defeating Kathmandu NCC in the final by a tiebreaker. Hence Shankardeva took up the responsibility of organizing the competition.
During the event, ANFA member Chand said that the competition will send a good message to the university. Chand said, “The BBI Cup will send a message that in addition to studies, TU students are also leading in sports.”
The competition was started 18 years ago at the initiative of Sankardev Campus. Tribhuvan University has been providing technical support for the competition.
