American Browser companies Arc Browser was first released for Mac computers last July and received relatively good reviews.

At the turn of April and May, Arc was also released for Windows, but only for Windows 11.

Unfortunately, Arc’s arrival on Windows has not gone unnoticed by scammers. There are multiple websites on the Internet that trick users into downloading fake Arc versions on their devices.

According to Bleeping Computer Sponsored Arc-themed scam sites will appear in at least some Google searches. The URLs associated with them may still appear correct in Google, i.e. Arc Network.

However, when the user opens the link, he ends up somewhere else instead of the real Arc website. The URL address of the scam website may be visually similar to the URL address of Arc, in which case the scam may not be noticed.

The fake version of Arc that can be downloaded from the website works fine, which means users may not notice that there is anything wrong.

Taking advantage of the popularity of new or popular products is certainly not a new phenomenon among cybercriminals. However, it is an often effective way to spread malware.

For Arc, downloading the browser is safe as long as you take care to actually download from the arc.net address mentioned above.
