Archery will return to the Olympics 12 years after London 2012. In fact, 12 years after Emanuele Guidi competed, World Archery awarded an Olympic card to the young San Marino archer Giorgia Cesarini, which will allow her to compete in Paris 2024.
The athlete’s achievements on the field in recent seasons have been accompanied by the constant diplomatic work of the San Marino Archery Federation, which today received the approval of the Tripartite Commission for Cesarini’s participation.
Luciano Zanotti commented: “After Gidi’s exciting participation in London, we are back in the highest international sporting context with a girl who has pursued her dream with commitment and dedication and whom World Archery considers ready for the Olympic Games. Archery in San Marino is active and growing and the international relations we have built over the years guarantee that we receive special attention. I can say that I am very proud of this athlete and of the entire FSTARco. Zanotti continued: “Today my embrace goes to Kristina Pruccoli, the reigning European champion and a unique athlete of quality and dedication, and I ask her not to give up and to strive for the next challenge. On the contrary, I ask Giorgia Cesarini and her staff to prepare as well as possible for this appointment. For us this is a historic result and for this I thank my colleagues on the FSTA Commission, the Presidents of CONS, FIARCO and FIARC and, of course, the President of World Archery.”
