Amazingly, the tables have turned!

It’s amazing how the table changes.

In years gone by, people could point fingers at those who were considered “old,” “drunkards,” “criminals,” or “unsociable,” etc. There was a clear distinction between the young and the old, and between the working class and those who chose to be lazy.

Fast forward to today, many young people seem to be aging rapidly, developing habits and behaviors that seem to reflect negative at best. Some will work hard to earn money, some struggle due to lack of opportunities, and some just become “pamaylay” (don’t care). Hard alcohol and various drugs seem to be something everyone is addicted to, along with sex and gambling for pleasure.

There seems to be no tomorrow factor in their plans, the concept of planning for a rainy day simply doesn’t work, and many people just waste their lives by not working hard and not taking responsibility. The role of taking care of yourself and your family or taking care of your brother seems to have disappeared. There is no right or wrong, no good or evil, no self-evaluation or self-control. This seems to be an era without hope, ambition, dreams, or sacrifice.

Some people would rather live on handouts or waste everything they have simply because they don’t care about themselves, their family or their friends, let alone others. It’s so sad to see their lack of direction, goals or the will to achieve them.

It’s like life will take care of itself, that “the government” or “someone” will always provide them with help, and the system is seen as responsible for their welfare and should care and pay attention to them, whether they are responsible for their situation or not.

Mutual recriminations are commonplace, and parents are supposed to support them till death, but self-control and self-evaluation do not fit into their lifestyle.

Partying and the joy of life are more important than anything else, self-destruction is on the rise, self-neglect is common, and criminals think the best way out is to scam people and take jobs that make quick money, no matter what the job is.

It is so sad to see so many people, especially young people, wasting their lives. It seems to me that many people’s tomorrow will be bleak because many people are walking on a tightrope, on a road of no return, and choosing a lifestyle with no rewards.

No one was willing to self-reflect, no one warned others, no one sought advice, and no one felt the need. But for me, the answer was not “It’s God’s will”, but the road to the abyss.

We pray for God’s help because the youth of this country seem to have gone astray. The next generation will have no mentors, no teachers, no counselors, no advisors or role models.

I feel sorry for the many people who are in such tragic situations.
