AES: Minister responsible for communications implements changes via video conferencing

As part of the implementation of the points contained in the Communiqué of the Niamey Summit of the Alliance for the Sahel States (AES), in particular point 19 on communication, and in implementation of the will of the highest authorities of the AES, Mali’s Minister of Communications, Digital Economy and Modern Administration, Alhamdou Ag ILYNE, invited his counterparts from the countries of the Alliance for the Sahel States to participate in a videoconference on July 9, 2024.

Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Oudraogo, Minister of Communications, Culture, Arts and Tourism of Burkina Faso, Ms. Aminata ZERBO/SABANE, Minister of Digital Transformation, Posts and Electronic Communications of Burkina Faso, Sidi Mohamed Raliou, Minister of Posts and Communications of Niger, and several of their collaborators participated in the online meeting.

The meeting was held at the initiative of the AES Chair, Minister Alhamdou Ag ILYNE of Mali, to discuss a roadmap aimed at establishing an effective communication strategy for AES countries.

The fruitful exchange resulted in the development of an emergency communications plan aimed at informing the population of the Federation of the main actions taken by the authorities. The Ministers also decided to hold a meeting of AES National Experts in Bamako next week. This meeting aims to develop a detailed communication strategy, accompanied by tools and graphic charters that reflect the shared values ​​of the AES countries.
