His Excellency Colonel Assimi Gota, the Transitional President, made a grand arrival in Beijing on Sunday, September 1, 2024, to attend the 9th Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.
The high-level delegation accompanying him included five key ministers, namely the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Minister of Economy and Finance, the Minister of Defence and Veterans Affairs, the Minister of Industry and Commerce, and the Minister of Finance. President Gota was welcomed with all honours due to his rank.
Elise Jean Daw, Mali’s diplomatic representative to China, also welcomed the president. The FOCAC summit is an important opportunity to strengthen China-Africa relations and discuss major cooperation issues between the two regions.
