With a new flying seconds hand and a Made in France movement, Beableu reinvents time the French way.
Time is a living substance that we can shape as we please. This is what the young French brand Beableu has been proving since it was founded by Nicolas Ducoudert in 2017. His watches, with their round hands, elegantly change the way of indicating the passage of time. “I like to keep a balance between designer pieces and pure watchmaking. These are not aspects that are meant to be in opposition, but rather aspects that are meant to be combined”he concludes. But why stop there? Its new collection, called “Seconde Française”, goes even further. In fact, this time it is equipped with a French automatic movement, signed France Ebauches, equipped with a 46-hour power reserve.

Produced in a limited edition of 888 pieces, these Beableu watches feature a flying seconds hand that moves across the dial as if weightlessly. The Première Française reference 19.24 has a 39mm diameter steel case and features a dial with delicate railroad scales separating 18th century style Indo-Arabic numerals. The whole thing is topped with a domed double domed sapphire crystal. More contemporary, the Première Française reference 20.24 strikes a modern note between the sculptural case, the hidden crown and the satin-finished dial. Don’t forget the luminous round hands treated with X1 grade Super-luminova. Depending on the bracelet, you can buy one of these for €1490 or €1590 with a five-year warranty.
