Teacher Berta Rojas, dedicated to the new generations of music, visits Paraguay to host the second Toyota Instrumentoteca Open Audition, which will select eight classical guitarists from the country, providing them with high-quality instruments and promoting their careers. In this second edition, the Toyota Musical Instruments Library seeks to go one step further and make a significant contribution to the future of the classical guitar in Paraguay by granting permanent ownership of the instrument to the guitarists selected as beneficiaries. They will thus be able to rely on top-quality instruments to accompany their professional development.

The project considers that the quality of the instrument is essential for the growth of a musician. The call is open to young classical guitar players from all over the country, between 18 and 35 years old, both Paraguayan nationals and resident foreigners.

To select the beneficiaries of the Toyota Instrument Library, the selection process will be divided into two stages: virtual pre-selection and final live audition.
During the pre-selection phase, those interested in participating have time until October 1, 2024 to send a video of their performance of a classical guitar piece demonstrating their interpretation and technical qualities. The video must be recorded at home, unedited, and uploaded to YouTube. Greek teacher Elena Papandreou, recognized as one of the brightest stars in the guitar world, will be in charge of selecting the 12 finalists, who will be announced on October 18 on the social networks of the Toyota Musical Instruments Library.

The final will be held on November 30 this year at the Paraguayan Colegio Japonés, in the presence of teacher Berta Rojas, who will be in charge of selecting the eight beneficiaries of the Instrumentoteca.
Each finalist must prepare a free program of up to 15 minutes, performing a piece of their own choice.
The eight beneficiaries of the Toyota Instrument Bank will receive a guitar from the program’s guitar bank, which includes a Jean-Marie Fouilleul guitar and seven Sakurai Kohno guitars. The instruments will be selected in order of finalist eligibility.
