Nepali women’s team wins Kawa beach volleyball championship

Kathmandu, July 19. Nepal’s women’s beach volleyball team won the Kawa Beach Volleyball Championship held in Bhutan.

In the final of the tournament held in Thimphu, Bhutan, the Nepalese duo of Kamala Pun and Manisha Chaudhry won the championship by defeating Uzbekistan A 2-0.

Nepal defeated Uzbekistan Team A 21-17, 21-14. Nepal won the championship by remaining unbeaten in 5 games.

Nepal’s Kamala Pun and Manisha Chaudhry, who won all three group matches, advanced to the final by defeating Uzbekistan B 21-13, 21-12 in the semifinals held on Saturday.

Two years ago, the duo of Kamal Pun and Kopila Upreti won the silver medal in the AVC Beach Volleyball Tournament held in Bangladesh.

Likewise, Nepali players Man Bahadur Shrestha and Dil Bahadur Sunal will also compete in the men’s final.
