A raid in the city of San Pedro Guayabi left Deputy Chief Eduardo Machado Cano, 40, dead and Sergeant Catalino Ojeda Romero, 49, seriously wounded, both of whom were stabbed during the operation.

The incident occurred around 3:20 p.m. Thursday at Colonia 6000 Ex Marengo.
The alleged perpetrator of the attack, a 28-year-old man who was arrested for domestic violence, also suffered injuries to his ribs. Sergeant Romero was transferred to the Rigoberto Caballero Police Hospital for treatment.
The raid, intended to capture the suspect, turned violent and tragic. Authorities continue to investigate the incident to clarify details and responsibilities.
