Text excerpted from “The Odyssey, the poet and the journey of Ulysses” was composed by Tonino Guerra and retains some parts of the Romagna dialect.
A show with ancient imagery evoked by poetry: three actors in front of the sea, accompanied by music and dance, bring the myth to life. The gripping story of the Odyssey is told and relived for adults and children alike, divided into eight chapters, from the discovery of the horses on the beaches of Troy to the massacre of the suitors.
Three figures emerged from the darkness of the past, like ghosts from Hades, the spirits that had danced within the walls of Troy before it was set ablaze by the hands of the Achaeans.
They are the sailors who accompany Ulysses on his return journey. They are the women who remain on the island and the women who wait at home.
The show is recommended for adults and children to watch together.
Founded in 2006, the Patalò Company focuses on contemporary theatre productions and works for children in different formats and orientations. For them, theatre is a ritual, a place where human encounters and contradictions collide.
