The pain of Kanali being forced to go abroad in the musical film “Shiru Lal”

Kathmandu. A musical film based on the life of the Karnali region, Shirulal: Soul of Karnali, has been released. Shot at various locations in Jumla, the film features a mix of Thadi Vaka and Folk Deuda popular in Sudurpaschim and Karnali.

The musical film presents the pain of locals being forced to move abroad in search of economic and other opportunities. It also provides an opportunity to closely observe how the residents of Karnali and Sudurpasm are deprived of roads and communication facilities.

The musical film is directed by Ratan Devkota. He said, “When I had to tell a story from my hometown in my first directorial musical film, I decided to assemble a fighting team to tell the story.”

The music is composed by Chakra Bomb. He is also a singer. Rachna Rimal is singing with him. Veteran Deuda singer Dikra Devi Badi is lending his voice to Thadi Vaka in the song. The music producer of this song is Kovid Bajr.

Directed by Saurabh Lamichhane, the video stars ‘Prakash’ actress Renunath Yogi, child actor Sanjay Periyar and singer Chakra Bam. Actress Yogi played a local woman from Jumla after the feature film ‘Prakash’.

In the film, the female character longs for the return of her husband who is abroad. The story, creative director and production designer of the song is Govind Sunar. The event was hosted by journalist Tikaram Yatri and Jumla MP and BJP leader Gyanendra Shahi was the chief guest.
