The salary and work arrangements of IPS doctors are unacceptable. This is what they think, and they have confirmed that in the face of the silence of the authorities, their only way out of the predicament is through a general strike.

Dr. Elías Rolón, president of the IPS Doctors Association, told Monumental 1080 AM that some professionals earn as little as G3,800,000.

“Whether you have a PhD or not, you will be hired for G4,500,000,” he said.

The strike date will be agreed after a special general meeting on July 6.

“We don’t want to strike, we just want to obey the law. But if we don’t receive a response from the authorities, we will have to resort to a certain level of force, which will be general, which is already inevitable,” said Rolon.
