We were not always like we are now, I remember in my childhood we were kind to each other, gave and shared, supported each other and appreciated the services provided.
Let’s start with an ungrateful child. Although you may have had one or two parents in your life, at least until you were 18 or older, they took care of you: food, clothes, shelter, medicine, school supplies, sometimes pocket money, toys, gadgets, etc. – all for one purpose: to give you a stable life, or even a “better” life.
There are parents who are willing to go hungry, work two or more jobs, humble themselves, and sometimes even be insulted, to take responsibility for you and desperately defend you.
But, one day, the ungrateful person in you will no longer respect the many sacrifices your parents have made for you, and you will end up bringing shame upon them with your disrespectful behavior.
In most cases, the help is not reciprocated – but “until death do you part” you still want or gain whatever these parents leave behind. You will fight for it, even kill, without regret – if asked to contribute in any way to your parents’ survival or life, some of you will quickly refuse, even not donating to burial expenses after they die.
This attitude permeates your life: always taking, never sharing or giving. In some cases, some people are underemployed or have no income, and some generous employer gives you a chance, despite training or general support and salary, but at the first opportunity you resign and only say bad things about your former employer.
Same thing in politics: most government agencies, like police, teachers, civil servants, customs, health and sanitation workers want a job, a salary and security, if possible until they are old. But if the government demands better performance, more responsibility, or standards of performance, or better results, you object and blame “the system”, but never your own attitude.
It is common practice for governments today to deal with infrastructure issues but rarely invest in social necessities, and now we see many people, young and old, benefiting from it. But now you find a government that cares and leans in this direction, you still have reason to condemn and criticize it. It is as if some people are never satisfied or grateful for the support provided and are always looking for more
There are people who always want to be victims, but they don’t help themselves, don’t engage in teamwork, and don’t have a positive mindset. Today, there are people who kill for self-gratification, personal gain, for selfish reasons, and they don’t care about the burden it will put on the society and the country as a whole, or how we are perceived on the global stage. All of this means nothing to the people we are discussing, because they just want to be remembered as the “badest kid on the block.”
How can we progress as a country, set an example for the next generation, improve our lives when this attitude is so rampant? Are we bent on destruction? Do we enjoy chaos? Are we so callous, so dehumanized, that nothing matters anymore? Is destruction our only ambition?
I sincerely hope that we can change this new direction because it is damaging our society as a whole and it is not good for business.
To all those who encourage this type of behavior and attitude, I say be careful, because if we are not careful now, “it will be too late!”
