White House: NATO summit will announce the establishment of a Ukrainian Armed Forces training command in Germany

Participants in the NATO summit in Washington will announce the creation of a new alliance command in Germany, which will coordinate the training of the Ukrainian armed forces and their equipment. Michael Carpenter, senior director for European affairs at the White House National Security Council, said, according to TASS.

“At the summit, the allies will announce decisive new steps in support of Ukraine. The allies will establish a NATO military command in Germany to coordinate training and equipment and help Ukraine develop its military in the future,” he said.

Carpenter said the summit will also announce 40 billion euros in military aid to Ukraine next year. In addition, the United States and its allies will announce “new steps” to “strengthen” Ukraine’s air defense system.

The NATO summit will be held in Washington from July 9 to 11 to mark the 75th anniversary of the signing of the North Atlantic Treaty in 1949.
