WhatsApp users! The wait is finally over for the Meta-owned instant messaging app’s popular chat and groups features that were previously announced.
Earlier, WhatsApp announced that it will soon roll out a feature that will allow users to mark certain contacts and groups as favorites.
Now, as reported by WABetaInfo, the WhatsApp for iOS 24.16.79 update has recently been released on the App Store, confirming through its changelog that the app will officially roll out this feature to a wider audience.
According to WABetaInfo, the official changelog mentions that favorites that appear at the top of the call tab and act as filters for the chat list can eventually be added.
Firstly, WhatsApp users can open the app settings and open the Favorites section where they can easily add contacts and groups to their favorites list.
Once added, these favorites will be highlighted for quick access. In this section, users can also manage favorites by rearranging, adding or removing favorites as needed.
In addition, the changelog provided by WhatsApp pointed out that users can experience a new call user interface (UI) with updated controls that are more intuitive and easier to access, thereby improving the overall reliability of the call function.
If you don’t have these features, please note that some accounts may receive them in the coming weeks according to the official changelog.
