Radom Airport. What’s next?

The problem with Radom is that it was built without any good reason. Maciej Lasek said the airport had very serious limitations – it had no radar, you couldn’t take off at night.

The Deputy Minister of Finance and Regional Policy added that if we manage to obtain an environmental decision on night flights, we can consider “preparing an offer” for charter flights for travel agencies. Lasek stressed that charter flights currently depart from Chopin Airport.

Laszek revealed that the government and Polish Airports are preparing offers not only for travel agencies, but also for low-cost operators.

Unfortunately, our predecessors built this airport. Moreover, it cost twice as much as originally planned.“No one wants to fly from this airport today. Basically, they think they have done their job. We have to fix this problem, just like digging through a sandbar. Cutting through a fork leads nowhere. Our government is currently repairing this investment. We will do the same with our investment in Radom airport,” Lasek announced.

– We are working hard to make this year better, but there is not much interest at the moment. I hope we can convince good low-cost airlines to be interested in Radom Airport. The infrastructure and cost of this airport is deplorable – commented Lasek. He also announced that the government will do its best to “save” the airport.

– We are in the present age. I would like to emphasize that the Port of Warsaw-Radom is very meaningful. For all his critics, he was criticized by the Civic Platform MPs and their authorities. They still believe in polarized diffuse development, letting big cities grow. Okosi airport is overloaded today, so this airport has the opportunity to relieve it, the future central communications port – Former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said during the port opening.
