The NHO’s Abelia and the LO’s employee organization El og It-forbundet have negotiated an ICT agreement. The deadline for reaching an agreement is Thursday night at midnight.
After two hours of extra time, EL and IT Forbundet reported to Riksmekleren that no agreement could be reached. This meant a strike would begin on Thursday morning.
EL and the IT Union announced strikes at the following companies: Geomatikk AS (60), GlobalConnect (29), Komplett (56), Onitio Norge (67), Onitio Solutions Norge (18), Telia (57) and TietoEVRY Norway (32).
The strikers’ jobs include customer service, development, installation, operation and maintenance of electronic and IT equipment.
– We are fighting for decent wages for everyone in the collective agreement, an increase in the minimum wage and a joint decision on emergency guards, says Geir Aasen, secretary of the union and chairman of the EL and IT negotiating committee.
Before mediation began, Oson said the strike could be felt in a number of ways.
– If your Telia network goes down before the round of 16 of the European Football Championship, it is conceivable that the error correction will take longer and you will not be able to contact customer service until after the referee’s whistle, says Orson.
