Japan’s Defense Ministry claimed that a Chinese naval research vessel entered its territorial waters near its southwestern islands.
– Japan lodged a protest on Saturday and expressed its strong concern over the latest incident through diplomatic channels, Tokyo-based Kyodo News reported, citing a statement from Japan’s Economy Ministry.
The move comes after Tokyo recently accused a Chinese military spy plane of violating Japanese airspace for the first time on Monday. The plane reportedly entered Japanese airspace over East China Sea waters near an island in southwestern Nagasaki province.
Beijing said it was investigating the suspected violation of Japanese airspace.
According to Anatolia, Japan has repeatedly reported in recent years that Chinese ships have intruded into its territorial waters in the East China Sea, especially around the Senkaku/Diaoyu Islands, where the two countries have long been in conflict.
