Auckland Transport launches $50 seven-day holiday Make a hat On Sunday, Auckland Mayor Wayne Brown said the move would help many Aucklanders struggling with the cost of living.

The fare cap will last for seven days, expiring at 11:59 pm on the seventh consecutive day after the first HOP vehicle tag is posted.

For example, if a customer swipes their card on Tuesday, their fare cap will be in effect until 11:59 p.m. the following Monday. The fare cap period will not restart until the next time the customer swipes their card.

The fare cap covers bus and rail services. Inner Harbour ferry services on the Bayswater, Birkenhead, Northcote Head and Devonport routes are included, but Central and Outer Harbour ferry services are excluded, as well as Hu Ya Trains between Hamilton and Auckland.
