The project strengthens national water infrastructure and improves water security.
The Government of Saint Lucia, in partnership with the Water and Sewerage Corporation (WASCO), through the Saint Lucia Social Development Fund (SSDF), has successfully secured financing from the Caribbean Development Bank’s Basic Needs Trust Fund (10th Cycle) to improve water supply in Victoria and Choiseul.
A fully operational, state-of-the-art 100,000-gallon water tank facility now sits at the Top End of Victoria, ready to deliver reliable tap water directly to hundreds of homes and businesses in several Victorian communities, including Belle Vue, Dacretin, Derriere Morne, Morne Sion, Fond Cacoa, Bois Den and Mongouge.
Every year during the dry season, climate change affects water levels in water catchments and natural streams across the island. This project strengthens the national water infrastructure network, increases water storage capacity, and provides Victorians with a more stable and reliable piped water supply.
