Villagers in the Sina district of Ayutthaya scramble to move their belongings to higher ground. The latter are affected at the end of the Chao Phraya River dam. Water levels continue to rise. Concerns about water above 2023

On August 31, 2024, the reporter went to Hua Wiang Village No. 5, Senna District, Ayutthaya Province to investigate the suffering of the villagers. The villagers behind the Chao Phraya River Dam, which was affected by the drainage, rushed to move their belongings to higher ground. As the water level continued to rise, Hua Wiang Village No. 5 was flooded until the main road into the village. Small cars could not pass. Villagers mainly relied on boats to enter and exit the village.

Asked Somjai Khamsri, 59, a villager from Hua Wiang Subdistrict Village 5, who was rowing into her home at the time. She revealed that she has now moved all her belongings to a higher place. After receiving the warning notice from the city government, it admitted that the water came very quickly this year. The water level then rose very quickly, and in just 3 nights, the water level rose by about 1 meter, resulting in the road into the village being cut off. Both small and large cars cannot be used for travel. Only boats must be used.

In addition, Ms. Somjai also pointed out the traces of water damage in 2023, saying that I am worried that the water will be more than last year. Because there is still a lot of water in the north. If the water level is higher than last year, you and your family may have to move out and rent a dormitory. Since these items are stored in high places, they may not be able to escape from the water.
