Khaled Khamis, chairman of the Al-Aswad Municipal Council in Al-Hajar in Damascus countryside, revealed that the work of removing rubble from communities where residents have returned will continue, while sewage maintenance projects will be implemented in Damascus. The main streets of Al-Hajar and Al-Thawra neighborhoods.
Khamis said the number of returnees to Al-Hajar Al-Aswad reached 2,200 families, explaining that the pace of return was slow because the houses needed to be repaired and maintained, which was costly.
Khamis said the city has installed three electricity transformers and drinking water is stored in tanks distributed around the city for residents to access, pending the repair of drinking water pipelines, and three schools have been put into use.
