A serious traffic accident occurred in the Fuel area of Flacq on Thursday morning, August 1. Sergeant Vidya Kumar Jadoo, 55, died after being hit by a truck. The breathalyser test result was negative
The driver of the lorry was tested for breathalyser and the result was negative. During the hearing, he explained to the police that he was driving in the same direction as the cyclist. According to him, Sgt Jadoo made a sudden right turn onto a private road, thereby causing the collision. After the hearing, the driver was produced in Flack Court where a provisional charge of murder was laid against him. A post-mortem examination conducted today revealed that Sgt Jadoo died from multiple injuries.
