televisionThe trade union movement is mourning the death of veteran trade unionist Dennis Clarke, former general secretary of the National Union of Public Workers.
His former colleague and friend Walter Maloney said he was devastated by Clark’s death.
He called Clark a man of integrity and faith who did everything he could to ensure both public and private sector workers were treated fairly.
“Dennis loved people and he couldn’t stand to see people treated unfairly,” Maloney said. “Dennis not only represented people in the public sector, he also provided pro bono services to people in the private sector.”
He added that Clark will be missed, but his legacy will live on and be carried on by the young workers he trained.
