Sue and Noel Radford had what was arguably the largest family in Britain, with 22 children. 21 of them are still alive, and one died at birth. His mother remembered him recently.
If you have seen Cheaper than ten yuan The 2003 comedy was nothing compared to the British family where the parents raised a total of 22 children. Sue and Noel Redford began dating as teenagers, Sue became pregnant early and gave birth to her first child, Chris, now 35, at the age of 14. His father, Noel, was 18 at the time. Three years later, in 1992, the parents married, and a year later, their second child, Sophie, now 30, was born. He was followed by another 20 saplings, but in the meantime, tragedy struck. One of them was the 17th child in a row, Alfie, who was stillborn on July 6, 2014. His mother posted a heartbreaking post on social media in his memory, highlighting that her son would have turned 10 this year.
Sue Redford said in the post that she went to the hospital because of severe back pain, and then she was told the devastating news: they could not hear the heartbeat. A few hours later, they went into labor and the mother was forced to give birth to the dead child.
This time of year doesn’t get any easier
– wrote Sue Radford, Along with the text she included a photo of Alfie’s tiny hand, as well as his hand and foot prints that doctors had taken after Alfie was born.
Ever since I found out I was pregnant with Alfie I felt like we were never going to bring him home. I just knew. It was weird because I’ve never felt that way in any of my other pregnancies. About three days before he went missing he seemed to slip away without a sound. His movements completely slowed down. At first I just instinctively felt something and towards the end some tiny physical thing confirmed my instinct. We ended up filming on the beach the day we lost it. When I got home I felt a really bad pain in my back and told Noel “I don’t feel well and the baby isn’t moving”. We immediately went to hospital and after a quick check the doctor announced that he couldn’t hear a heartbeat and my baby was dead. I don’t think you can ever be mentally prepared for something horrible that happens to you. ”Sue Radford details the story of the worst day of her life. Her 22nd child was born in April 2020 and is named Heidie. The mother insists she is the last.
