MTA chairman Saudullah Ahmed told PSM News that the main goal of the night market is to provide better opportunities for businesses.

He said the night market has received a warm response, with more than 100 small and medium-sized enterprises participating. He said this is the first night market for the MTA, but they will try to hold more such night markets in the future.

“When we tried this, many merchants raised questions about whether we could hold night markets. This shows that giving everyone the opportunity to hold night markets is not working well.

The Maldives Trade Association said the night market will sell a variety of clothing and household items at cheaper prices than in the market.

Night markets are held at different times and under different names, selling goods at cheap prices.
